It is 5:30 ET you are already on the water. The water is like glass and all is quiet around you. Beside you in the boat is a cooler filled with your favorite beverage (whether beer or Pepsi is up to you!). When you approach your favorite hole, you pick up your wand and tie on a lure surface. You cast your line into the bank and present your topwater offering.

All of a sudden, the water explodes and you are in the battle of your life with a big mouth Lunker! It feels like it will book maybe 3 or 4. As you search the vessel side, you reach down and to lift water. Larger than expected, about 5 pounds! You turn and drop your prize into the live well and prepare for distribution next …

The thrill of bass fishing topwater addictive. There is a big difference between catching that elusive largemouth bottom, middle or surface. Topwater bass fishing is a more visual experience than other types of fishing. There are certain types of rods and lures for bass fishing topwater.

Rods
Most fishermen will tell you that the rod 6 to 6 ½ feet with a medium action will suffice. If the action the rod is too stiff, you Yank your bait right out of the fish's mouth when you set the hook. A medium action rod is the best fit for fishing for topwater bass.

These bars are available in a price range of about $ 20 to over $ 200. Do you need to spend much money on a rod? Whatever the price tag, a medium is the medium-term action. All these lures have their own unique presentations. When presented properly, these baits are historically known for producing low quality. This is true across regional boundaries, weather and tempurature water.

A big tip
Now you have the rod and lures you need for topwater bass fishing, there is one more thing you should know. Here: Since the topwater fishing is a visual type of fishing, most anglers will set the hook too early and Jerk the lure right out of the mouth Fish. To prevent this, do not set the hook immediately when you see the strike! Wait a coil, the second in a little soft if you feel the pressure of the bass line, then set the hook. Who plotter / sounder / fishfinder combo can I buy for my kayak fishing?

I look at 3 options = 188C Garmin, Humminbird 383C or 595C? Am favoring the 383C, but is a 3.5 inch screen is too small? But the Garmin looks good and can get it for a price similar to the 383C

Another idea – could you use infra-red CCTV and watch the submarine relief? I do just for fun, I'm not fishing. I use kayaks and a dinghy could get a bid this year. Something that I thought more than once.
