Fishing rods with roller guides AFTCO?
Hi, I recently purchased an Okuma Convector CV 45D-round bait-casting real and I did not buy a stick for it yet. I think to get a heavy rod that can hold 60 pounds to 20 mono or braided lines. My question is: these rods with roller guides AFTCO, I know they are good for your braided line for this type of test lines can break your line guides with friction. Can someone please explain to me what is the advantage or dis-advantage of having a fishing rod with AFTCO roller guides and types of fishing can I do with these rods? I want something I can use for a short distance casting and fishing behind and can hold 2 pounds ballast too Pier fishing for blow. Thank you
1. Your Okuma convector is assigned to 30LB line. This could be a good idea to be looking for a rod rated 20-40lb. # 2. As Peter_AZ said, if you plan to cast (and get any distance) with your equipment DO NOT get a guided Aftco roller rod. Aftco roller guided rods are generally used for trolling. Because you want to use this equipment for casting, fishing pier, and behind, if I were you, I opt for a non-driven roller shaft. (Or buy a couple of equipment Further, 1 for trolling, 1 for bottom fishing, etc.) roller guides are perfect for general trolling and big game such as Marlin, Sails, Great Shark, Bull Dolphin, Etc.-Bottom line-If you buy a roll of the tour you stalk yourself and to limit use not appropriate gear for the different types of fishing you talk to.
